LEGAL
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 19 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Dharma mobile application (the "App"), operated by Bankuru Services ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The Service
Dharma provides access to the text of the Bhagavad Gita, Valmiki Ramayana, and Mahabharata, along with word-by-word meaning, transliteration, offline reading, and AI-generated commentary and chat responses grounded in the scripture text.
AI-generated commentary is provided for educational and devotional reflection. It is generated by a third-party language model and, while grounded in the source scripture, may occasionally be incomplete or imprecise. It does not constitute religious, legal, medical, or professional advice of any kind.
2. Accounts
You may use certain features of the App as a guest. To sync progress, bookmarks, and subscriptions across devices, you must sign in with a Google account via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the device and account you use to access the App.
3. Subscriptions & AI Credits
- The App offers a free tier (200 AI credits per month, 10 per day) and three paid subscription tiers — Silver, Gold, and Diamond — each offering a higher monthly AI credit allowance or unlimited fair-use AI access.
- All subscriptions are billed and managed through Google Play Billing. Pricing shown in the App and on our website is indicative and may vary by region and currency as set by Google Play.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, in accordance with Google Play's subscription terms.
- AI credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over unless explicitly stated otherwise in the App.
- See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details on cancelling or requesting a refund.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's scripture datasets for redistribution
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App or our backend services
- Circumvent or interfere with subscription/credit enforcement mechanisms
- Use the AI chat/commentary features to generate content that is unlawful, hateful, or abusive
5. Intellectual Property
The Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharata are public-domain sacred texts. The App's specific translations, transliterations, word-meaning annotations, design, branding, and software are the property of Bankuru Services and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
6. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services — including Firebase, Anthropic, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat — to operate. Your use of the App is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers. We are not responsible for outages or issues originating from these third-party services.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will always be accurate or complete.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bankuru Services shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on AI-generated commentary.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Profile → Privacy → Delete Account, or by contacting us.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
